Statens vegvesen advances Norwegian infrastructure projects
Statens vegvesen has announced several infrastructure developments in Norway. In Sunndal municipality, four contractors—Christie Nordang AS, Hæhre Entreprenør AS, Peab Anlegg AS, and Risa AS—have been prequalified for the tender to build the new Fale bridge on highway 70. The project, estimated to cost 453 million NOK, aims to improve heavy transport accessibility and traffic safety. Construction is targeted to begin in December, with completion expected by winter 2029.
Additionally, a new service building is set to open at Ersfjordstranda on Senja on August 27. Developed in collaboration with Senja municipality as part of the National Tourist Routes, the 80-square-meter facility is constructed from mass timber and aluminum to withstand harsh coastal weather. The building will serve as a kiosk and information center, featuring toilets and an outdoor shower to accommodate the increasing number of visitors to the area.
