Statens vegvesen announces road maintenance and safety works

Statens vegvesen has announced several road maintenance and safety projects across different locations in Norway.

On National Road 13 near Kvinnefossen in Sogndal, night closures are scheduled for the nights of August 18 and 19, 2026, from 23:00 to 05:30. These closures are necessary to prepare the area for new concrete barriers following a rockfall on August 1. Additional daytime closures are planned for August 20 for asphalt work and August 22 for concrete pouring.

Additionally, safety improvements will take place on the E18 between Fiskvollbukta and Mastemyrkrysset from August 23 to September 21, 2026. The project, to be executed by Garda Road Safety, involves installing concrete barriers in the median and along bridge pillars. Most work will occur at night, and motorists should expect reduced speeds and altered driving patterns during this period.
