Statistical experts and SDG Forum announce new initiatives
In Libreville, participants of a workshop organized by the African Development Bank (BAD), CEMAC, and UNFPA formulated 14 recommendations regarding the implementation of SDMX and the transition to the Open Data Platform version 2.0. The workshop aimed to strengthen the technical capacities of member state experts to manage, harmonize, and exchange official statistics. Key recommendations include creating migration roadmaps for national statistical institutes and establishing a regional monitoring system by the CEMAC Commission.
Separately, the annual SDG Forum is scheduled for October 13, 2026, in Brussels. The event will feature sessions on planetary boundaries and the integration of ecological limits into political decision-making. Another session will address sustainable housing and heating, focusing on the obstacles faced by populations in poverty when attempting to invest in sustainable infrastructure.
