Statistics Estonia to launch agricultural structure survey in September
Statistics Estonia will conduct an agricultural structure survey from September 1 to November 30. The study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the state of Estonian agriculture, serving as a vital input for shaping future agricultural policies.
The survey will involve up to 4,000 companies and individuals. For those selected who do not complete the online questionnaire by September 23, telephone surveyors will follow up until the end of November. Participation is mandatory for those holding agricultural land or livestock.
Eve Valdvee, head of the agricultural and technology statistics service team, noted that active participation is in the sector's own interest to ensure that data analysis and subsequent decisions are accurately targeted. The survey is part of a coordinated pan-European effort using consistent methodology across EU member states. While annual production data is released via registries, these structural surveys provide a deeper insight into the direction of the agricultural sector and identify those in need of support.
