Statistics Sweden launches annual municipal citizen survey

Statistics Sweden (SCB) has launched its annual citizen survey, inviting randomly selected residents from across the country to provide feedback on their municipalities. The survey aims to evaluate aspects of local life, including schools, elderly care, trust in local politicians, and perceived safety.

Participating municipalities include Varberg and Landskrona. In Landskrona, the survey follows a period of significant local challenges, including criticism regarding elderly care services and higher-than-average unemployment rates. In the previous survey, 94 percent of Landskrona residents rated the municipality as a good or very good place to live.

The results of the survey are intended to serve as guidance for politicians and civil servants to improve municipal services and strengthen local democracy. Results are expected to be presented in December.
