Stauros Floros completes fourth Miami surgery, family hopeful for recovery
Greek reality‑show contestant Stauros Floros, injured during the filming of Survivor, underwent his fourth operation on his right foot in Miami. The eight‑hour surgery involved a delicate skin graft and was described by his father as successful, though doctors say they will wait another one to two days before confirming the outcome. Floros has had three more serious procedures on the same leg, and doctors estimate he may be able to walk again in two to three months. His left foot remains swollen and no surgery has been performed there yet. The family speaks with him daily and remains optimistic about his rehabilitation.
TV presenter Sakis Tanianidis commented on the incident, stating that the accident should not be linked solely to the Survivor programme. He said, “It’s a tragedy, but not a Survivor tragedy. Accidents happen everywhere; this just happened to be there,” urging that such events be viewed in a broader context.
