Stavenisse receives modular homes as Heusden plans joint municipal building and housing expansion

Thirteen sustainable modular homes, originally slated for Putte, were reassigned to Stavenisse after nitrogen‑related restrictions blocked the original site. Built by housing corporation Stadlander and developer Tala, the units are part of the Poststraat phase 2 project, which will ultimately contain 32 dwellings, including social and middle‑rent options. Installation faced a crane delay believed to be caused by tropical heat, but the first module was unveiled on 23 June 2026. The homes are factory‑produced, biobased (about 80 % bio‑materials), and can be purchased by tenants after ten years of renting.

In Heusden, the municipal council and housing corporation Woonveste signed an agreement to share a new municipal building at the Wolput. BCT Architecten won the design contract for an energy‑efficient, climate‑adapted facility. By consolidating services and relocating existing town halls, the project will free space for roughly 900 new homes across various target groups, linking housing development with civic services and green infrastructure.
