Stavros Floros Loses Part of Leg in Dominican Accident, Greek Survivor Show Suspended

A 22‑year‑old contestant, Stavros Floros, was injured while scuba‑fishing off Saona Island in the Dominican Republic, where the Greek reality series Survivor is being filmed. A tourist boat's outboard propeller struck him, causing severe leg injuries that required the partial amputation of his left leg and serious ankle trauma.

AcunMedya, the production company, halted filming and suspended the broadcast of the show pending investigation. The boat's driver was detained and is under police custody, claiming he did not see a nearby safety buoy. Floros was hospitalized in serious but stable condition and may be transferred to the United States for specialized care. The incident has sparked scrutiny over safety protocols on extreme reality productions.

Greek channel SKAI temporarily paused the series while authorities continue their inquiry, and the case could lead to legal consequences for the production and the vessel operator.
