STCP launches free WhatsApp service for real-time bus tracking in Porto

The Sociedade de Transportes Coletivos do Porto (STCP) has launched a free WhatsApp service to provide passengers with real-time bus arrival information. Users can interact with the service by messaging the number +351 226 158 158 to receive arrival predictions within seconds.

The tool offers three main inquiry options: searching by bus line, by specific stop, or by the user's current location. Once an initial prediction is provided, passengers can monitor the progress of the journey in real time.

This initiative is part of a broader digital modernization strategy led by Luís Osório to increase proximity to passengers and adapt to digital communication habits. The WhatsApp service complements existing tools, such as the real-time data already available via Google Maps, which covers the network's 2,517 stops.
