Steak releases self-titled fourth stoner rock album

London-based stoner rock band Steak has released their fourth studio album, a self-titled LP titled ‘Steak’. The release comes four years after their previous album, ‘Acute Mania’, and features a lineup that now includes Tom Cameron from Crystal Head on guitars and vocals.

The new record continues the band’s desert-sound roots, characterized by heavy riffs, distorted grooves, and low-tempo rhythms. Tracks such as ‘Cometh’, ‘Luxury Junk’, and ‘Dust’ showcase a blend of clean guitar melodies transitioning into heavy distortion, supported by prominent bass and vocal harmonies. While some critics describe the work as a maturation of their sound that adds complexity and melody, others note the predictable nature of the songwriting.
