Steam provides five full games for free from July 23 to July 27
From July 23 through July 27, Steam is offering five complete titles at no cost. The lineup includes the survival game Icarus, the cooperative Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, the shooter Killing Floor 3, the animal‑themed tactical shooter Wild Assault, and the procedural rail‑building game Unrailed 2: Back on Track. All titles can be downloaded and played without payment during the promotion period.
Valve’s earlier attempt to curb piracy is also recalled. In September 2003, prior to the launch of Steam 1.0, the company proposed a system that would deliver only a partial game download when launched, require a full download each time the game was played, and delete the files on exit. The scheme drew heavy criticism and was never implemented.
