Steam reaches record 43.5 million concurrent users
Steam has reached a new all-time high for concurrent users, surpassing 43.5 million simultaneous connections on October 11, 2026. Data from both Valve’s official statistics and SteamDB confirm this milestone, with Valve reporting approximately 43,501,449 users and SteamDB recording 43,505,724.
It is important to distinguish between total concurrent users and active players. While over 43 million users were logged into the platform, approximately 14.46 million were actively playing games at the peak. The remaining users were likely browsing the store, using chat functions, or managing their libraries.
Top performing titles during this peak included Counter-Strike 2 with roughly 1.4 million players, followed by Dota 2 with over 1 million, and PUBG: Battlegrounds with approximately 713,000. Other notable titles contributing to recent engagement include AION2 and WARDOGS.
The platform continues a long-term upward trend in user engagement. For comparison, Steam’s October peak in 2010 was only 2.9 million users. This latest record occurred during a regular weekend in October, suggesting the platform is growing beyond its typical seasonal spikes seen during winter sales.
