Steel Frame construction can increase usable area by 8%
The Steel Frame construction system offers significant advantages in energy efficiency and space optimization. By installing thermal insulation, such as glass wool, directly within the galvanized steel structure between the studs, the system achieves high thermal performance without increasing wall thickness.
André Rossi, Development and New Business Manager at Barbieri, notes that the primary advantage is that insulation becomes part of the wall's composition. This avoids the need for additional layers that would otherwise encroach on the interior space. Compared to conventional masonry, which often requires extra layers for insulation that reduce usable area, Steel Frame can potentially increase usable internal area by up to 8% within the same built footprint.
