Steel industry leaders discuss technology and supply chains at Isfahan symposium
During the 28th Steel Industry Researchers Symposium held in Isfahan, executives from major Iranian steel companies addressed industrial challenges and strategic shifts. Amin Ebrahimi, CEO of Khuzestan Steel Company, emphasized the necessity of moving beyond a production-only focus toward value creation, productivity, and competitiveness. He identified energy constraints, export difficulties, and underutilized production capacities as primary obstacles that require technological solutions, including artificial intelligence and data analysis.
Khuzestan Steel Company officials also highlighted the company's rapid return to operational capacity within 25 days of a production halt, attributing this to technical expertise and workforce coordination. Meanwhile, Shahroud Steel Company engaged in negotiations with several major mining and steel holdings, including Ghadir Industries and Development of Mines and Industries, to secure a stable supply of raw materials and optimize domestic supply chains.
