Steelcase and Aahwahan Foundation distribute bicycles to Bengaluru schoolgirls

Steelcase has partnered with the Aahwahan Foundation to support Project Udaan, an initiative designed to remove transportation barriers for young girls and promote inclusive education.

As part of this collaboration, 100 bicycles were distributed to students at Karnataka Public School in Basavanagudi, Bengaluru. The initiative aims to address challenges faced by students in underserved communities, where long commute distances and a lack of reliable transportation often lead to school absenteeism or dropouts.

Project Udaan has distributed nearly 6,000 bicycles to date across various underserved regions. The program intends to expand its reach to government schools throughout Karnataka and other parts of India to help girls maintain academic focus and independence.
