SteelSeries launches UWB-powered Sensei Pro and Rival Pro mice

SteelSeries has announced the Sensei Pro and Rival Pro wireless gaming mouse series, featuring a technological shift from traditional 2.4 GHz radio links to Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology. Developed in collaboration with Canadian firm SPARK Microsystems, the use of LE-UWB allows the devices to operate in the 6.4 GHz band, reducing interference from other devices commonly using the 2.4 GHz spectrum.

This transition enables a wireless polling rate of 8,000 Hz, providing increased responsiveness and bandwidth for competitive gaming. To manage the power demands of high polling rates, the mice utilize an ‘Infinite Power System’ consisting of two hot-swappable batteries, each offering 16 hours of life in high-performance mode.

The Sensei Pro features a symmetrical design weighing 53g, while the ergonomic Rival Pro weighs 54g. Both models include mini variants weighing 49g. The products are available for pre-order at $179.99, with shipping scheduled to begin on October 13.
