Stefan Beshkov Sets New Guinness World Record for Baseball Hits in Bulgaria

On 14 July 2026, Bulgarian baseball player and Sofia Blues president Stefan Beshkov broke the Guinness World Record for most baseball hits in one minute, achieving 30 hits in 60 seconds at the "October" stadium in Sofia. The previous record of 25 hits, set by Americans Cory Fallon and Andrew Lobo in New York in 2020, was surpassed under the strict verification procedures required by Guinness, including timekeepers, witnesses, videographers and a photographer.

Beshkov performed the attempt dressed entirely in white to convey a message of peace, stating that sport can offer a non‑violent way for nations to compete. He said the record aims to draw attention to Bulgarian baseball, raise funds for national teams and support the development of youth baseball across the country. The achievement follows a prior team record by Beshkov and teammates for most ground balls fielded in one minute.

All documentation and video evidence have been uploaded to the Guinness online platform, and official ratification is expected in the coming months.
