Stefan Krajewski addresses Polish agricultural subsidies and ARiMR funding

Polish Agriculture Minister Stefan Krajewski addressed several critical issues regarding agricultural support and agency management during a recent Q&A session.

Regarding the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture (ARiMR), Krajewski defended the allocation of 155 million PLN for employee bonuses and special additions, citing an intensive workload and additional tasks performed by the 11,200-person staff.

On the topic of direct financial aid, ARiMR has already distributed 9.5 billion PLN in advances, including 8.54 billion PLN in direct payments. Farmers can apply for subsidies for fertilizer and fuel purchases made between March 1 and August 31, 2026, with the deadline for applications set for October 23. Officials expressed concern over the relatively low number of applications submitted so far, noting that there is limited time for administrative verification before the November 23 decision deadline.

Additionally, the Ministry is preparing a new support program for pig farmers, aimed at rebuilding domestic herds. The proposed aid includes 1,000 PLN for each maintained sow and 2,000 PLN for purchased sows, with a target launch date of October 15, pending coordination with the Ministry of Finance.
