Stefan Mross discusses family tragedy and death threats

German Schlager singer and presenter Stefan Mross has spoken publicly about several personal challenges. He addressed the end of his tenure with the program ‘Immer wieder sonntags’ after more than 30 years, expressing difficulty in understanding the decision. Mross and his partner, Eva Luginger, also revealed that they have faced intense hostility and death threats due to their relationship.

Additionally, Mross reflected on a 2021 double murder in Wals-Siezenheim, near Salzburg, where his aunt and cousin were killed. Despite the perpetrator receiving a life sentence, Mross stated in an interview that he wishes the man ‘the best’. He noted the profound impact the crime had on his family, particularly his mother, and the lasting destruction it caused within their family structure.
