Stefan Mross Gets Emotional Tributes as 'Immer wieder sonntags' Ends

German public broadcaster SWR announced that after 31 years and more than 370 episodes, the long‑running Saturday entertainment programme “Immer wieder sonntags” will be discontinued, with the final season airing in 2026.

Host Stefan Mross, who has presented the show since 2005, received heartfelt tributes from guests. Singer Steve Paradiso told the audience, “Ein Sonntag ohne Stefan Mross ist für mich ein verlorener Sonntag,” and expressed hope the show could continue for another 30 years. Later, guest Dominik Ofner surprised viewers by stripping onstage and revealing a T‑shirt that read “Lieber Stefano Mross…”, prompting Mross to thank the audience repeatedly.

The episode also featured the “Sommerhitparade” competition and a kitchen segment where singer Dennis Wilms injured his thumb with a slicer. Despite the emotional farewell, nine regular broadcasts and a special scheduled for 6 September remain before the program’s final shutdown.
