Stefan Mross Hospitalized After Spicy Currywurst Challenge on Live TV

In 2014, during a live broadcast of the German entertainment show "Immer wieder sonntags", host Stefan Mross took part in a currywurst challenge featuring ten sausages of increasing spiciness. The editorial team had set a limit that no sausage should be hotter than the fifth, but Mross ignored the warning and ate the hottest variety. The extreme heat caused him to collapse on stage and he was taken to hospital for treatment.

Years later, comedian and television presenter Guido Cantz recounted the incident in his stage program "Komische Zeiten", describing the chaotic backstage scene and how the situation quickly turned serious. Cantz said he initially thought the episode was a planned prank, but it turned out to be a genuine medical emergency for his colleague.
