Stefan Mross' Long-Running Sunday Show Cancelled; Andy Borg Predicts Comeback

Germany's public broadcaster SWR announced that the long‑running Schlager program "Immer wieder sonntags," hosted by Stefan Mross since 2005, will end its regular run on 6 September after more than 300 episodes and 32 seasons. A final "best‑of" edition will be broadcast on 13 September.

The decision was justified by the broadcaster's economic situation. Mross said he was shocked by the cancellation and criticised how the news was communicated. Fellow Schlager entertainer Andy Borg, recalling his own experience when his show "Musikantenstadl" was cancelled in 2015, expressed confidence that Mross will find another television opportunity and that his fans will support him.

The cancellation marks the end of an era in German Sunday‑morning entertainment, while the industry and viewers await any new projects for Mross.
