Stefan Mross' final 'Immer wieder sonntags' episode highlights partner Eva Luginger

The long‑running German Schlager‑show „Immer wieder sonntags“ aired its last episode this season, hosted by Stefan Mross at Europa‑Park Rust. In the finale Mross introduced his partner, singer Eva Luginger, who performed her new single “Heimliche Tränen”. He praised her on‑stage, calling her “our treasure” and offering a heartfelt introduction, while maintaining a professional distance during the performance.

The episode also marked a personal milestone for the couple. Earlier in the year Luginger underwent surgery for a precancerous cervical condition, which forced Mross to cancel several live engagements. Luginger has stated that the operation means she cannot have children, but she emphasized that motherhood was never her primary focus. Mross publicly credited her resilience and noted that the health issue explained his recent short‑notice cancellations.

The show's termination, scheduled for 2027, ends Mross’ more than two‑decade tenure as moderator. The final broadcast combined entertainment with a glimpse into the couple’s private challenges, drawing significant viewer attention as the program concludes its run.
