Stefan Mross’s ‘Immer wieder sonntags’ to miss August 16 broadcast

The long-running German Schlager music show ‘Immer wieder sonntags’, hosted by Stefan Mross, will be absent from the ARD programming schedule on August 16, 2026. The broadcaster is prioritizing live sports coverage, including the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, the European Swimming Championships in Paris, and the World Equestrian Championships in Aachen.

This hiatus precedes the permanent cancellation of the series. ARD and SWR previously announced that the show would end after the 2026 season due to strategic and financial reasons. The final live episode is scheduled for September 6, 2026, followed by a ‘Best-of’ special on September 13.

Singer Anna-Carina Woitschack expressed regret over the show’s conclusion, noting that it has served as a vital platform for emerging artists. She emphasized that the decision does not reflect a lack of interest from fans, citing the popularity of live Schlager performances.
