Stadler Rail and Rieter announce major CEO successions

Several Swiss industrial companies have announced major leadership transitions.

Stadler Rail has appointed Philipp Brunner as its new CEO, effective January 1, 2027. Brunner, a long-time employee who has been with the company since 2010, succeeds Markus Bernsteiner. Bernsteiner, who has led the company since early 2023, will transition to board roles. Brunner currently manages the Central Europe division and has previously held leadership roles in India, Algeria, and Belarus.

Textile machinery manufacturer Rieter is also undergoing a management change. Thomas Oetterli will step down from both his roles as CEO and Chairman of the Board at the end of October. He is succeeded as CEO by Daniel Lippuner, an industry expert and former CEO of Saurer, starting November 1. Carl Illi will serve as Chairman of the Board until the next general meeting.
