Stefan Târnovanu seeks move from FCSB as UTA coach Adrian Mihalcea targets playoff
Goalkeeper Stefan Târnovanu has repeatedly asked FCSB owner Gigi Becali to allow a transfer abroad, citing his desire to play for a larger club. Former FCSB star Marius Lăcătuș said the club is likely to sell Târnovanu for less than the €5 million release clause, estimating a modest fee will eventually be agreed.
Separately, UTA Arad manager Adrian Mihalcea said the team’s objective for the 2026‑2027 season is to reach the league play‑off and advance as far as possible in the Romanian Cup. He emphasized that these goals are set by the coaching staff, not imposed by club leadership, and praised recent player acquisitions while acknowledging the need for a deep squad to sustain a long campaign.
