Stefani village in Thessaly opens new mountain recreation spot
At an altitude of 1,352 m, the village of Stefani – the highest settlement in Thessaly – received a newly built recreation area at the local landmark known as Kroutsia. The Municipality of Meteora upgraded the connecting footpath with a paved surface, installed a wooden kiosk and protective wooden railings, creating a safe and attractive stop for residents and visitors.
Mayor Lefteris Avramopoulos said the work fulfills a promise to the community, improves access and safety, and highlights the natural beauty of the southern Pindus slopes. The project is part of a broader effort to promote the mountain villages of Meteora as appealing tourist destinations while preserving their traditional architecture and environment.
