Stefania Auci presents new book at Pordenonelegge festival

Author and educator Stefania Auci has presented her new book, ‘Cunti, storie e romanzi. I libri della mia vita’ (Mondadori), at the Pordenonelegge festival. The work explores her literary formation through the books that shaped her life, ranging from childhood Sicilian oral storytelling to works by authors such as Jane Austen, Alexandre Dumas, and Luigi Pirandello.

Auci, known for the bestseller ‘I leoni di Sicilia’, emphasized the democratic and liberating nature of reading, stating that ‘books are a second life’ and that reading should be free from judgment. She highlighted how her grandmother’s oral tales in Sicilian dialect helped develop her imagination and influenced her continued use of dialect to convey emotional depth in her writing.
