Stefania Pezzopane receives “Donna è Vita” national award

Stefania Pezzopane has been awarded the national “Donna è Vita” (Woman is Life) prize, recognizing her long-standing commitment to social and political institutions, women's rights, and the fight against gender-based violence. The award, presented by Associazione Medea, also highlights her work in supporting communities affected by the 2009 earthquake in L'Aquila. The ceremony in Avezzano featured 26 women recognized for their excellence and dedication to fostering an inclusive society free from prejudice and violence.

Separately, the Umbria region is commemorating the 29th anniversary of the 1997 earthquake. Umbria President Stefania Proietti led a memorial mass to honor the eleven victims of the seismic event, which caused significant damage to the Umbria-Marche Apennines and the Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi. Proietti emphasized the ongoing responsibility to transform this memory into concrete action regarding seismic prevention and community safety.
