Stefanik and Gottheimer launch bipartisan campus antisemitism caucus

Representatives Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) have launched the Combating Antisemitism on College Campuses Caucus. The bipartisan group aims to coordinate congressional oversight regarding how higher education institutions respond to antisemitic incidents and harassment.

The caucus intends to pressure universities to enforce existing anti-discrimination rules and safeguard Jewish students, faculty, and staff. Additionally, the group will work to advance federal legislation addressing campus antisemitism and discrimination related to the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

Announced during a visit to Vanderbilt University, the initiative seeks to hold institutions accountable while highlighting schools that serve as effective models for managing campus safety and inclusivity.
