Stefano De Martino aims to make Sanremo Festival more international
Stefano De Martino, the announced presenter of this year’s Sanremo Music Festival, said preparations are progressing well and that the show will be oriented toward a broader international audience. He explained that the five‑night event will continue to feature all competing songs on Tuesday and Wednesday, add a dedicated cover night on Thursday, and devote Friday to a performance night where artists can showcase creative staging; the winner of that night will represent Italy at Eurovision.
De Martino also signaled a reduction in the total number of songs to give each performance more space, expressed hopes for guest appearances such as Vasco Rossi, and joked about the possibility of a Maneskin reunion during the festival. He referenced the legacy of former host Amadeus and stressed the role of Rai’s artistic team in shaping the event’s direction.
