Stefano Moretti proposes open primaries for Vasto

Stefano Moretti has proposed that upcoming primary elections in Vasto should be open to all citizens, rather than being limited to internal party structures. This proposal follows statements from Mayor Francesco Menna, who expressed willingness to run for a third term if permitted and suggested using primaries to present his candidacy.

Moretti, acting as an independent, argues that primaries should not merely serve to balance internal coalition dynamics or select between specific pre-selected names. Instead, he advocates for a direct confrontation between himself and Menna to allow the residents of Vasto to decide the city's future without party mediation.
