Stefano Pioli expresses desire for Serie A return

Former Fiorentina head coach Stefano Pioli has expressed his intention to return to coaching, stating a preference for staying in Italy to prove his capabilities. Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, the 61-year-old coach addressed criticisms regarding his recent performance, rejecting labels that suggest he is ‘washed up’ or ‘boiled.’

Pioli, who has previously managed Milan, Inter, Lazio, and Bologna, has been without a club since leaving Fiorentina in November 2025 via a mutual contract termination. While he noted receiving several offers from abroad, he clarified that these did not originate from Spain, England, or France. He emphasized that while interest within Italy has not been exceptionally strong, he remains motivated to find a new role.

Additionally, Pioli commented on his recent visit to Como’s training center, offering praise for manager Cesc Fabregas and predicting a successful career for him.
