Stefano Trinchera Confirmed as U.S. Lecce Sporting Director through 2029

U.S. Lecce announced that Stefano Trinchera has signed a new contract extending his role as sporting director until the end of the 2028‑29 season. The club said the agreement, previously set to expire on 30 June 2028, will keep Trinchera in charge of the technical area through 2029.

Former defender and commentator Egidio Ingrosso praised the move on Facebook, stating, "Non mi ero ancora espresso sulla scelta del nuovo direttore sportivo per l’U. S. Lecce… la scelta di affidare a lui la responsabilità dell’area tecnica è la decisione migliore." The appointment follows the departure of long‑time sporting director Pantaleo Corvino, who stepped down after years of guiding Lecce’s talent development and league survivals. President Saverio Sticchi Damiani highlighted that Trinchera, a former Lecce player and scout, aligns with the club’s strategy of sustainability and competitiveness in Serie A.
