Stefano Valdegamberi urges halt to Giulia Cecchettin Foundation school protocol

Stefano Valdegamberi, a regional councilor for Futuro Nazionale in Veneto, has called on Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara to halt a protocol signed with the Giulia Cecchettin Foundation. The three-year agreement, titled ‘Educating for Respect,’ aims to prevent gender-based violence in schools by addressing gender stereotypes and discrimination.

Valdegamberi criticized the initiative, labeling it an ideological ‘Trojan horse’ that seeks to ‘criminalize the male’ and treat masculinity as a gender issue requiring ‘deconstruction.’ He argued that education should focus on individual responsibility rather than targeting a specific gender, stating that violence and bullying are not gender-specific issues.

The Giulia Cecchettin Foundation was established by Gino Cecchettin following the 2023 murder of his daughter, Giulia. The foundation's educational programs are designed to promote gender equality, conflict management, and a culture of respect among students of all grades.
