Stefanos Kasselakis auctions mother's silver for charity

Stefanos Kasselakis, president of the Democrats party, appeared on the premiere of the Star Channel show ‘Cash or Trash’ to auction silver items belonging to his mother for charity. The proceeds are intended to support ‘Become Human’, an organization that assists women facing gender-based violence and the mothers of victims of femicide.

The items up for auction included pieces from Mappin & Webb and Christofle, with an estimated value of approximately 1,000 euros. During the broadcast, host Despina Moiraraki shared her personal history of surviving domestic abuse, leading to an emotional exchange between the host and the politician.

Kasselakis emphasized the importance of the organization, noting that the state often fails to provide necessary support, such as legal fees or transportation, for victims and their families.
