Stefanos Tsitsipas leads Greece in Davis Cup against Slovakia

The Greek national tennis team, led by Stefanos Tsitsipas, is set to face Slovakia in a Davis Cup World Group I matchup. The competition will take place on September 19 and 20 in Kosice on clay courts.

Captain Apostolos Tsitsipas has selected a squad including Stefanos Tsitsipas (ranked No. 53), Stefanos Sakellaridis (No. 136), Ioannis Xylas (No. 425), Aristotelis Thanos (No. 817), and Petros Tsitsipas (No. 980). Slovakia, captained by Tibor Thot, will field Alex Molčan (No. 86), Norbert Gombos (No. 369), Milos Karlo (No. 526), and Lukas Pokorna (No. 614).

Thodoris Glavas, president of the Hellenic Tennis Federation, described the match as a historic opportunity. A victory against Slovakia could lead Greece to the Davis Cup Qualifiers for the first time, potentially opening a path toward the Final 8.
