Stefanus Sinonge calls for inclusive micro-credentials policy
Stefanus Sinonge, Chairperson of the Kavango East Regional Council, has advocated for a practical, inclusive, and quality-assured national micro-credentials policy. Speaking on behalf of Kavango East Governor Hamunyera Hambyuka during a consultation workshop in Rundu, Sinonge emphasized the need for a framework that addresses Namibia’s specific skills development requirements and regional economic needs.
The workshop was organized by the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA) as part of a series of regional consultations. The proposed policy seeks to regulate and standardize short, focused learning programs designed to provide learners with specific competencies required by the current labor market. These consultations aim to gather stakeholder input to ensure the final framework responds to evolving economic demands.
