Wide receiver Stefon Diggs, one of the NFL’s most sought‑after free agents after being released by the New England Patriots, is weighing a move to the Washington Commanders. Diggs was recently cleared of felony strangulation, assault and battery charges and will face no discipline under the league’s personal‑conduct policy.

Speaking to Fox 5 DC, Diggs said he is “working through some things” and expressed a desire to play near his Maryland hometown, noting, “It would be great to come home and play in front of the fans I used to play for when I was a kid.” He recorded 1,013 receiving yards and four touchdowns in the 2025 season, and the Commanders could need a new WR if Deebo Samuel departs in free agency.
