NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs and celebrity stylist Chris Griffith are embroiled in a series of civil lawsuits stemming from a May 2023 incident at Diggs' Maryland home. Diggs filed a defamation suit after Griffith alleged that Diggs drugged him with a piece of candy and made non‑consensual sexual advances. In response, Griffith filed a countersuit claiming sexual battery, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, asserting that Diggs laced the candy with an unknown drug.

Both parties have released alleged Instagram direct‑message screenshots. The messages show Diggs reportedly writing, “Lol cmon get your a** bust,” and Griffith replying, “Lol I commend ya confidence champ.” Griffith has publicly stated, “I don’t know why liars lie, but if a liar told me I was lying, I wouldn’t believe them,” rejecting claims that his case is a “cash grab.”
