STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT launches on Steam

The visual novel remake STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT has launched on Steam, ahead of its scheduled console release on October 29th. Developed by MAGES. and published on PC by Spike Chunsoft, this version is a complete reimagining of the original 2009 title rather than a simple remaster.

Key updates include redesigned character art by huke, a 20% increase in background locations, and doubled story illustrations. The game utilizes the E-mote animation engine to provide fluid character movements and facial expressions. Additionally, the voice cast has re-recorded lines, and composer Takeshi Abo has reworked the soundtrack.

Players who purchase the game before November 30th will receive the bonus DLC STEINS;GATE Octet of Shifting Space. A Digital Deluxe Edition is also available, featuring a digital artbook, the soundtrack, and a recording of the STEINS;GATE 15th LIVE ONE WORLD anniversary concert. In Japan, a service called Gemmaid allows users to purchase Steam keys alongside physical L-size bromides that can be printed at convenience stores.
