Stela Neagu, the wife of the renowned writer and academician Fănuș Neagu, has passed away at the age of 92. Her death was announced by her family, including Anita Neagu.

Ionuț Vulpescu, former Minister of Culture, paid tribute to her, describing her as a vital figure of the post-war generation. Vulpescu highlighted her deep partnership with Fănuș Neagu, noting that they shared both a personal life and a cultural universe for many decades. He characterized her as having a unique energy and a profound connection to the world of literature.

The couple's home on Ion Mincu Street in Bucharest was noted as a significant cultural space, described by Vulpescu as a ‘book with friends’ where values, humor, and intellectual exchange flourished.
