Stelios Foundation pledges 260,000 euros to Cyprus shipwreck victims' families

The Stelios Foundation has announced a total of 260,000 euros in financial aid for the families of those affected by a ferry shipwreck off the northern coast of Cyprus. The incident, which occurred on August 30, 2026, resulted in the confirmed deaths of eight individuals, while 18 others remain missing.

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder and chairman of the foundation and owner of the easy brand, expressed condolences to the families. The foundation will provide a direct cash donation of 10,000 euros to the closest relative of each of the 26 victims (both confirmed deceased and missing) via bank transfer within one month of the incident.

To receive the aid, next of kin must follow an application process that will be published on the foundation's official website. Priority for the funds will be given to spouses, parents, adult eldest children, and eldest siblings, provided that the relationship can be verified with official documentation.
