Stelios Foundation launches aid for Kyrenia ferry victims

The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation has opened an online application platform to provide emergency financial assistance to families affected by the recent ferry sinking off the northern coast of Cyprus. The foundation has earmarked a total of €280,000 to support the relatives of the deceased and missing persons involved in the disaster near Kyrenia.

Each affected family is eligible to receive €10,000 through a dedicated online form where relatives can submit necessary documentation. The disaster, which occurred as the vessel was en route to Turkey, has resulted in 13 confirmed deaths and left 15 people missing.

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of the foundation, stated that the aid is provided to widows, orphans, and parents regardless of their nationality. He noted that the foundation has provided similar support during previous emergencies, including the 2011 Mari explosion in Cyprus and the 2023 Tempi train accident in Greece.
