Stella Damasus identifies herself, Omotola, and Genevieve as Nollywood’s ‘Big 3’

Veteran Nollywood actress Stella Damasus has reflected on her career, identifying herself, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, and Genevieve Nnaji as the industry’s ‘Big 3’. During an interview with Pulse TV, Damasus discussed the era when the three actresses were widely regarded as the leading figures in the Nigerian film industry.

Damasus noted that their reputation was built on authenticity, stating that they focused on their craft rather than imitating others or chasing fame and money. She highlighted that their rise occurred before the era of social media, meaning they had limited ways to gauge their own popularity beyond seeing themselves on posters.

The actress also addressed the competitive atmosphere of the time, noting that constant comparisons from fans created pressure. She explained that this rivalry pushed them to work harder, as each actress sought to prove themselves and avoid being perceived as the weakest of the trio.
