Stellantis Atessa plant reports 850 vehicles daily production

The Stellantis manufacturing plant in Atessa, located in the Val di Sangro, is reporting a production rate of approximately 850 vehicles per day following the summer break. This update follows a meeting between company management and the Fim and Uilm unions, marking the official end of the solidarity contract as of August 1, 2026.

Stellantis has confirmed planned investments for the facility, which will include technical interventions on the production lines. To facilitate these upgrades, some scheduled production halts are expected. Notably, work on the sheet metal department is planned for the end-of-year shutdown, though some voluntary weekend overtime will be required in certain areas to maintain momentum.

Concurrently, local authorities in Atessa are addressing infrastructure concerns in the Val di Sangro. The municipal administration has clarified that while they are working to advocate for better road conditions to support the local industrial district, many of the provincial roads connecting Atessa to Casalbordino, Tornareccio, and the industrial area are under the jurisdiction of the Province of Chieti. The administration is calling for increased regional and provincial funding to manage the maintenance of the road network, noting that rising raw material costs have doubled maintenance expenses.
