Stellantis Cassino plant faces production crisis and shutdowns
The Stellantis manufacturing plant in Cassino, Italy, is experiencing a severe industrial crisis, with production activity dropping to just three days for the month of October. An additional production halt has been scheduled from October 26 to October 30, affecting painting, assembly, and related departments. By the end of 2026, workers are projected to have completed only 59 working days.
Labor unions, including Cisl, Uilm, Ugl, and Fiom, are demanding a concrete industrial plan rather than mere reassurances. While regional leaders have met with Stellantis executives to discuss the plant's strategic role in producing Maserati and premium models, unions argue that without specific guarantees regarding vehicle models, investment volumes, and job security, the facility faces inevitable decline.
Union representatives have called on the Lazio Region and the national government to provide extraordinary income support for workers facing structural redundancy and economic hardship caused by the continuous reduction in working hours and the impact on local suppliers.
