Stellantis cuts pickup production at Argentina plant

Stellantis is significantly reducing pickup truck production at its Ferreyra plant in Córdoba, Argentina. The company is scaling back output for the Fiat Titano and RAM Dakota models due to lower-than-expected demand in both domestic and international markets.

For the 2026 period, production forecasts have been slashed by nearly 39%. Specifically, the plan for the RAM Dakota has dropped from 18,000 to 12,000 units, while Fiat Titano production is expected to fall from 9,000 to 4,500 units. As a result, the assembly line will transition from two shifts to a single shift starting September 1.

The slowdown follows a period of heavy investment, including $385 million to establish the facility as a strategic hub for South American pickups. The decline in demand is attributed to a contraction in the Argentine automotive market and weakened demand in Brazil, a primary export destination. The rise of Chinese vehicle manufacturers in the region is also cited as a contributing factor to the shifting market dynamics.
