Stellantis cuts pickup production in Argentina amid falling sales

Stellantis has announced significant production cuts for the Fiat Titano and RAM Dakota pickup trucks at its Ferreyra Industrial Pole in Córdoba, Argentina. The reduction comes as the Argentine automotive market faces a sharp decline, with vehicle registrations dropping 30.3% year-on-year in July.

Under the new production program, RAM Dakota output will be adjusted from a projected 8,000 units to 3,000 units for the remainder of the year. Similarly, Fiat Titano production will be lowered to 1,000 units from an original forecast of 1,500. These adjustments represent a reduction of over 30% compared to initial annual plans.

Despite the broader market contraction, the medium pickup segment has shown relative resilience. In July, the six most popular models—Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Volkswagen Amarok, Chevrolet S10, Fiat Titano, and RAM Dakota—accounted for approximately 16.6% of all light vehicle registrations. The Toyota Hilux remains the market leader, followed by the Ford Ranger and Volkswagen Amarok.
