Stellantis evaluates moving RAM production from Mexico to the US

Stellantis is evaluating the potential relocation of its RAM Heavy-Duty truck production from its Saltillo, Coahuila, plant in Mexico to its Warren Truck facility in Michigan, United States. Reports indicate the company has requested suppliers to calculate the commercial viability and costs associated with such a move, which is being driven by pressure from U.S. automotive tariffs.

In response to these reports, the Government of Coahuila has stated that its operations remain solid. Luis Olivares Martínez, the state’s Secretary of Economy, reported that high-level Stellantis executives have communicated that the company remains committed to its productive activities in Mexico, emphasizing that the country continues to serve as a manufacturing hub for the Heavy-Duty line. State authorities are maintaining dialogue with company leadership and labor organizations to ensure regional employment stability and to address industry speculation.
